TAMPA -

UPDATE: The Jewel of the Seas pulled into the Port of Tampa about 20 minutes before 9:00 a.m. Monday.

It was about an hour and a half late due to dense fog that left boaters stuck at sea early this morning.

--------------------------

Problems continue for cruise ships headed into the Port of Tampa as the dense fog continues to be an issue.

Thousands of cruise ship passengers were left at the mercy of the low to no visibility at times on Sunday, as they were stuck at sea for hours until visibility was good enough to make it into the Port of Tampa.

Three ships were affected yesterday with passengers seeing arrival and departure delays of up to eight hours.

At last check with the Port of Tampa at 5:30 Monday morning, there is still a cruise ship waiting about four hours away from port for the dense fog to lift once again.  Port officials tell us there is no set time for Royal Caribbean's Jewel of the Seas to arrive, as they just don't know what the weather will do.

If you are planning on boarding either the Royal Caribbean cruise ship or the Carnival cruise liner scheduled to head into the Port today, be sure to check the Port of Tampa's website before heading to the Channelside area.
