TAMPA - Three people were sent to the hospital as trauma alerts following a two-vehicle crash that caught one car on fire overnight.
The impact was so great, one of the passengers was ejected from the vehicle that ran a red light crashed into the other vehicle, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at the corner of Nebraska Avenue and Fletcher Avenue in North Tampa around 11:45 p.m.
A Dodge Magnum was speeding northbound on Nebraska Ave. when the driver ran a traffic light at Fletcher and collided with an older model Jaguar headed westbound on Fletcher Avenue.
The impact caused the Dodge to flip several times before coming to rest nearly two blocks away.
One person was ejected from the Dodge and the vehicle caught fire. Two people were inside the Dodge and one person was inside the Jaguar. All involved were sent to the hospital. The incident is under investigation. It is not clear whether alcohol played a factor.
