TAMPA - Busch Gardens and International Plaza are teaming up to create a new children's play area which replace the Tampa Bay Rays-Looney Tunes kid's ball park.
The free play area will include animal characters, a train, safari truck and a 14-foot Cheetah Hunt Tower. The characters include a hippo, baby lions, a baby elephant and an alligator.
The play area will also feature a 70 inch TV showcasing all of the Busch Gardens adventures.
"This is a great partnership, and as the Tampa Bay area's No. 1 family theme park, we're excited to bring a little bit of adventure into the community for all families to experience each and every day," Busch Gardens Park President Jim Dean said in a media release. "This will be a fully immersive experience for kids, highlighting the exciting elements you'd find at the park."
Construction on the new play area will begin September 14. A grand opening ceremony is set for September 20.
