TAMPA - Bruce B. Downs in New Tampa was shut down for about an hour Monday afternoon when a bicyclist was hit near I-75.
Tampa police say the bicyclist, a 67-year-old man, was crossing the road in mid-block when he was hit.
The driver, 23-year-old Stephanie Miller, tried to stop but was unable to avoid hitting him.
He was taken to Tampa General with life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is ongoing, but investigators do not believe the driver was at fault.
