TAMPA - The body of 28-year-old Christopher Zutes was found early Thursday morning in Tampa Bay. According to reports, his boat hit a channel marker and a seawall around 7 p.m.
A witness called 911.
Members of the Tampa Police Department dive team and the Florida Wildlife Commission conducted the search for Zutes, whose body was found between the Howard Frankland and Gandy bridges.
The 20-foot boat is now in an evidence compound.
An investigation into how crash occurred is underway. Investigators will try to reconstruct the events leading up to the accident.
The U.S. Coast Guard assisted in the search.
