TAMPA - A bicyclist tried to cross West Hillsborough Avenue early Wednesday morning but was hit by a car traveling eastbound.
Tampa Police say the car's driver was traveling under the posted 45 mph speed limit when the car hit the bicyclist in an area between N Dale Mabry and Hesperides Street.
The unnamed bicyclist's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening but according to Tampa Police he will be ticketed for his role in the crash. They say he tried to cross Hillsborough Avenue and thought he could make it before the driver reached him.
The car driver was not hurt.
