A Bay area hospital has made Healthgrades’ list as one of the top 100 hospitals in the United States.
Healthgrades' recent study examined 50 cities with the overall lowest risk of mortality rates and compiled a top 50 and a top 100 list of the Best Hospitals in 2013.
Sarasota Memorial Hospital is one of only 13 hospitals in Florida that made the cut as a leading healthcare facility with top physicians and low mortality rates.
Healthgrades is an online resource for consumers to evaluate hospitals and physician’s performances.
The organization's mission is to inform consumers about physician and hospital qualities and they urge everyone to do their homework before getting care.
“Our analysis shows there is no substitute for quantitative data and relying on name recognition, location, or other variables does not ensure selection of a hospital with superior quality outcomes,” the study states.
Heathgrades is one of many hospital rating systems.
