TAMPA - ABC Action News took first place in three categories at the Tampa Bay Association of Black Journalists 2012 Griot Drum Awards.

Deiah Riley took a first place award in the non-deadline reporting category for her story about the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' first black quarterback, Parnell Dickenson.

Former ABC Action News reporter Jeff Butera won first place in deadline reporting for his story on a forgotten cemetery (see http://wfts.tv/xPQurb).

Tampa Bay Association of Black Journalists also awarded a first place award in investigative reporting  to Matt Mcglashen and Jackie Callaway for a series of 'Taking Action' stories.
