TAMPA - On Wednesday, Judy Brito fought back the tears in court most of the time as she talked about her kids, 13 year-old Jeremi and 16-year-old Kiara.
When asked to identify a ring that belonged to Kiara, the grieving mother she answered that she knew it was her daughters ring because she had bought it for her.
When Judy was asked when she had purchased that ring, she briefly smiled as she reflected back to happier times and replied, "When she was just a little girl."
Judy's little girl and her little boy are now gone. They were shot dead during a robbery at their South Tampa home on West Van Buren Dr. on June 5, 2011.
On trial for her murder is Charles Waits.
Investigators believe it was Waits and Tavari Grant who shot and killed the teens during a robbery. Both teens were shot in the head.
In the courtroom, Judy was asked to identify items--- her purse, watches and her daughter's ring.
Investigators say they have video of both Waits and Grant pawning some of those items.
Waits claims he was forced into the robbery turned murder and that he was not at fault.
You could hear that "fault" is something that Judy Brito struggles with.
She testified on the stand that the last time she spoke to her son, he was out late and she told him, " go home."
When Judy left the stand, she ran from the courtroom.
From inside the courtroom ,it sound as though she became ill when she got outside.
This court case is expected to last two weeks.
