An officer and several witnesses saw Trombley driving south on the 5200 th block of N Nebraska Avenue when she sped up, drove onto a sidewalk and tried to hit two male pedestrians unrelated to the confrontation at the lounge.
One person jumped out of the way while the other was knocked to the ground.
The suspect made a u-turn on Nebraska Avenue and fled south.
The officer began following the suspect on Nebraska Avenue, attempting to catch up with her.
Trombley ran the red light at Busch Boulevard, turned off her headlights and began to drive at a high rate of speed.
She lost control just south of Hillsborough Avenue and crashed into a pole at East Frierson Avenue.
The driver was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. The passenger in the vehicle, Simmons, suffered a broken leg and was taken to the hospital.
