Two dead in apparent murder suicide in St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg Police say they found two people dead late Saturday night after what they believe was a murder-suicide.

Twenty-two-year-old Megan Sullivan and Leon Cranston, 24, were found dead with gunshot wounds to their upper torsos at 10901 Brighton Bay Boulevard NE.  Police say Cranston was Sullivan's estranged boyfriend.

According to the police report, officers responded to a check on welfare that was initiated by Sullivan's father.  The preliminary investigation revealed that Sullivan and Cranston were engaged in a fight of some sort before Cranston shot her and then killed himself.

Both families have been notified.  We will update this story as more information becomes available.
