ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -
Three people were shot, one fatally, in a St. Petersburg home early Friday morning, according to St. Petersburg Police.
Just before 2:00 a.m., officers responded to 4300 block 21st St. N., where they found a 21-year-old man had been shot outside the home. Two others were found shot inside.
A 28-year-old man inside was pronounced dead at the scene. He's identified as Daniel Brown III of St. Petersburg.
A 22-year-old man inside the home had a gun shot wound to the lower body. He's identified as Ryan Jaeger, also of St. Petersburg.
Police say it appears that Brown was in the process of robbing the two other subjects with a handgun during a drug transaction.
21-year-old Charles Hernandez, who lives at the home, produced his own gun and shots were exchanged between the two. During that exchange, the Jaeger was struck.
Narcotics and firearms were found at the scene.
