ST. PETERSBURG - Police are searching for a missing St. Pete man who may be suicidal.
Kongdaoloy “Yo” Saycocie, 34, was last seen Saturday at 3:30 a.m., after a family member dropped him off at his apartment, police said.
According to authorities, Saycocie was supposed to be headed for Texas to live with his sister.
He never showed up, but on Wednesday, the sister received what appeared to be a suicidal letter saying that the police could find him at his apartment.
Relatives called the police and officers went to his apartment, located at 3545 30th Avenue North.
When no one responded, due to the suicidal tone of the note, police forced entry into the home.
Police noticed a significant amount of dried blood in the home, but Saycocie wasn’t inside.
Police believe Saycocie may have left his apartment in need of medical attention.
The apartment contained an empty handgun box in addition a few of his belongings, so officers suspect that he has a gun in his possession.
The missing man has no car as far as his family knows, so his mode of transportation is unknown.
Saycocie is described as an Asian male, 5’5” 100 pounds with black hair, dark eyes and glasses.
Authorities are asking that anyone with any information regarding Saycocie call (727) 893-7780.
