ST. PETERSBURG - ArtsAlive 2012 Free Museum Day takes place on Saturday, September 29.

Tampa Bay residents can take advantage of once a year free admission to a number of museums and cultural attractions in St. Petersburg.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and participating venues include the Dr. Carter G. Woodson Museum, Florida Holocaust Museum, Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg Museum of History, Dali Museum*, Great Explorations Children's Museum, The Pier Aquarium, Creative Clay, Morean Arts Center Galleries/Glass Studio and Hot Shop, Morean Arts Center for Clay, and the Chihuly Collection* on Beach Drive.

The Morean Glass Studio and Hot Shop features live artist demonstrations at 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. along with a meet and greet with local glass artists.

The city encourages visitors to park in city garages downtown and ride the St. Petersburg Trolley Downtown Looper or Central Avenue Shuttle. The trolleys will be stopping at or near most downtown ArtsAlive venues.

ArtsAlive is produced by the city of St. Petersburg and participating arts organizations in conjunction with the national Smithsonian Free Museum Day.

*Please note these two restrictions:
Free admission to the Dali Museum will be limited to Pinellas County residents only
Free admission for the Chihuly Collection is for Florida residents only
