Police identify body found floating in Tampa Bay near the Mahaffey Theater

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla - St. Petersburg Police have identified the body of a man found floating in Tampa Bay on Thursday.
Police said it is that of 73-year-old George Lee Babec of St. Petersburg.
A passer-by spotted Babec's body around 5:15 p.m. just offshore from the Mahaffey Theater.
Babec was wearing a jogging suit and had identification on him.
Reports indicate no foul play, but a final report from the Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause of death.
Detectives are having a difficult time locating Babec's next of kin and ask anyone who might have known him to contact investigators at (727) 893-4207.
