ST. PETERSBURG - An employee for a St. Petersburg law firm, embezzled nearly $400,000 from her boss to maintain her lifestyle after a divorce, St. Petersburg police said.
Diane Oquist was charged with one count of grand theft. Police say she embezzled more than $397,000 from the law firm of James Hack.
According to a police report Oquist, "admittedly paid her own credit cards and wrote checks to herself," with company funds. Police say Oquist told detectives she wanted to "maintan a lifestyle that was interrupted when her husband was unable to work."
