ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - St. Petersburg Police are searching for the man who committed strong armed robbery against a wheelchair-bound 84-year-old man Tuesday afternoon.
Surveillance video of the suspect was captured the at the Walgreens located at 2195 66th Street North just after 5:30 p.m.
The suspect entered the drug store and stood by customers, pretending to look at merchandise, according to the St. Petersburg Police department.
After the wheelchair-bound victim made his purchase at the register, the suspect quickly followed him outside.
When both men were outside, the suspect quickly bumped into the victim’s wheelchair with force, nearly tipping him over.
The suspect then ripped the victim’s wallet from his lap and ran off.
The suspect is described as a black man, age 25 to 35, 5'10" to 6'0" tall, and weighs 160 to 170 lbs.
He was wearing a collared black and white horizontal striped polo shirt, jeans and a black baseball cap with an unknown logo.
St. Petersburg Police are asking for assistance in locating the suspect.
