ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - A man was found dead in a St. Petersburg house fire Friday morning, but investigators believe the blaze was not the cause of death.
Firefighters were called to 8074 23rd Avenue North around 7 a.m. where a fire was burning inside the home.
Firefighters made their way inside and found an unresponsive man who was removed from the residence. The man, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead and "had apparent injuries inconsistent with a fire related death."
Homicide detectives were called to the scene and determined the cause of death "may be self inflicted."
No other details were immediately available. More information is expected later today.
