College football all-star game coming Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The annual East-West Shrine Game will be played at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg this January. The announcement was made by St. Petersburg mayor Bill Foster on Wednesday.

The east-west shrine game features some of the highest-rated NFL draft prospects. The game is scheduled for January 21st and will be televised live by the NFL Network.

The East-West Shrine Game is the longest-running college all-star football game in the country. The first game was held in San Francisco back in 1925.

Throughout the past 86 years, the West teams have won 45 times and the East have won 34 times. Five games ended in a tie.
