21 year old Timothy Michael Deacon is charged with DUI manslaughter

St. Petersburg - The man who was allegedly driving drunk and who ran into 2 people walking along Coffee Pot Boulevard last night made his first appearance in court this morning.
The judge set bond at $175,000 for 21 year-old Timothy Deacon who police say drove up onto the sidewalkand hit and killed one person and critically injuring another.
Police say 67 year old Gloria Mastell of St. Petersburg was taking a walk about 6:30 last night along with 71 year old Roger Wurr in the 1900 block of Coffee Pot Boulevard when Deacon missed a curve, overcompensated and hit the pair. Mastell went into the water and was pronounced dead at the scene. Wurr was transported to Bayfront Medical Center with life threatening injuries.
Police say Deacon left the scene but they found him later at his home. He's charged with DUI manslaughter, DUI bodily injury and with leaving the scene of a crash involving death.
