ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - It was the news we waited all night for and Bayfront's Baby Place reported first.
At 3:25 this morning, a little girl was born in their Baby Place ward. She was the first official 11/11/11 baby reported in the Bay Area. The hospital isn't releasing the name at this point but baby girl weighed in at five pounds, seven ounces.
Bayfront didn't stay first for long. We soon learned of two earlier babies born at Brandon Hospital. Officials there report a baby boy born at 12:46 a.m. and a girl born at 3:03 a.m.
St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa also confirms they have an 11/11/11 birth already but they are not ready to release any other information on that baby.
St. Joseph's Women's Hospital confirmed that eight babies were born as of 11:00 a.m.
Editor's note: We previously reported that All Children's Hospital delivered the first 11/11/11 baby, which was incorrect. This article now correctly reports that Bayfront's Baby Place delivered the first 11/11/11 baby in the Tampa Bay area. Blake Sabatinelli, Executive Producer, abcactionnews.com
