TAMPA BAY - Three men have been arrested after an early morning police chase that began in the USF area of Tampa and ended in south St. Petersburg, about 30 miles away.
Tampa police say it all started Wednesday morning a little after 1:00 a.m. at a gas station around 15th Street and Fowler Avenue.
Officer G. Bricha noticed a Ford F-150 pickup truck with out of state plates.
He ran the plate and noticed the car had been reported stolen from Mississippi.
Officer Bricha confronted the three men in the truck.
Lebaron Woods, 21, and Landrick Edwards, 23, got out of the truck and tried to run but were quickly arrested. The driver of the truck, Gregory Deonte Brinson, 23, sped away.
Tampa Police then chased him up 275 South, reaching high rates of speed according to police.
The chase led them into St. Petersburg where he eventually got off at 15th Avenue South.
Brinson then drove to Fargo Street South, right off of 15th Avenue South.
He got out and tried to run in front of an occupied house at 1227 Fargo Avenue South.
He was arrested at that point.
As our crew arrived, investigators were bringing what appeared to be a large weapon, bags of evidence and a box from the home.
We are told Brinson will be booked into the Pinellas County jail on charges of burglary/grand theft auto, resisting arrest without violence and aggravated fleeing and eluding.
No status update has been given for the other two who were arrested at the gas station in Tampa.
