62 year old St Pete man charged with stalking a teen and offering money for sex

SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla - A 62-year old St. Petersburg man was arrested Tuesday for stalking a teen and offering him money for sex.

Officials say it first happened in a shopping center parking lot on 66th Street North on December 13.  According to detectives with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, Walter Price, approached a 15-year old teen, and offered him $100 for a sex act.

The teen fled to a nearby store and hid inside. According to the teen, Price circled the parking lot looking for the teen, and eventually drove away. The next day, he was again approached by Price in the same parking lot. This time the teen went into another business and asked them to call police.

Price was identified as the man stalking the teen. Detectives interviewed Price and arrested and charged him with aggravated stalking and lewd and lascivious conduct. He's being held on $30,000 bond.

Pinellas County Sheriff's Office says Price has never been arrested for crimes like this before, however, there have been reports of similar situation involving Price and adult men in the city of St. Petersburg.

Detectives are asking anyone who may have come in contact with Price under similar circumstance to contact the Sheriff's office.
