SEMINOLE HEIGHTS, Fla. - Officials are investigating after an abandoned two-story home in caught fire in Seminole Heights early Friday morning.
The original emergency call came as dumpster fire, but when Tampa Police arrived, they saw flames shooting through the roof of a home, located at 1101 E 33 rd Ave.
It took firefighters nearly an hour and a half to put the flames out because the fire had gotten up to the roof.
Neighbors say the home had not been lived in for about eight years, however transients were occasionally spotted in and out of the home.
The fire is under investigation to determine whether arson was a factor.
