PINELLAS PARK, Fla. - A burglar looking to steal oxycodone from a Pinellas Park pharmacy Thursday morning never made it out of the building, police say.
The suspect, identified as Michael Gould, rode his bicycle to the ASAP Pharmacy at 8613 66th Street North around 4 a.m., climbed up on the roof and gained access to the building through an airconditioning vent.
His movements set of a burglar alarm.
Officers and SWAT members responded and heard sounds on the roof. They surrounded the building.
Around the same time, officers found a bicycle with a backpack containing a pill bottle with the suspect's name on it.
A tactical team entered the building, using a bullhorn ordering the suspect to come out. They received no response and sent in a police dog that found Gould hiding in the ceiling.
He was arrested around 7:45 a.m.
A police spokesperson said Gould had both blank and filled-out prescription slips on him.
This wasn't the first time Gould was nabbed by police. He has a prior arrest for grand theft.
