PINELLAS PARK, Fla. - Pinellas Park police spent much of early Friday morning investigating a murder. 

Police said Richard E. Wilhelm, 72 years old, placed the 911 call himself at about 11:45 p.m. Thursday to report that he had just killed his wife.

Police have not said how it appears Carole E. Wilhelm died. Police found her dead inside the home she shared with her husband at the Golden Gate mobile home park on 4th Avenue in Pinellas Park. 

Richard Wilhelm is at the Pinellas County jail. He was arrested on charges of first degree murder. Police describe his arrest as "without incident."
