PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. - St. Petersburg and Largo police departments joined forces Friday night to conduct a sting operation, agency officials said.
The two agencies hit several different locations throughout Pinellas County, arresting drug dealers and life-long criminals.
The sting operation came about after community members complained to law enforcement about drug and criminal mischief happening in their neighborhoods.
Officers took several months to prepare for the sting.
The night of the sting, they started in Coral Way neighborhood near Belcher Road. Officials said they made several arrests in the area before moving to different locations throughout the night.
Several different residential areas were involved in the sting.
Authorities claim they made 10 arrests, charged 23, and arrested three gang members during the eight hour operation.
