MADEIRA BEACH, Fla. - After millions of dollars in cuts to an already strapped education budget, many had their doubts about where Florida's public school system was headed.
Now, Governor Rick Scott says he wants to hear the concerns, he wants to hear what the public has to say and that's exactly what he has been doing.
Gov. Scott is midway through that "Listening Tour" coming off his latest stop at Boca Raton High School where parents, faculty and staff got a chance to voice their concerns, not only about public school education, but the higher learning institutions in the state of Florida. How could they possibly operate under such tight budget restrictions?
If you have some of the same questions, Gov. Scott says he wants to hear from you.
The forum today at Madeira Beach Fundamental will be held from 1:30-2:30 for the teacher roundtable, then immediately following at 2:30 will be the parent roundtable discussion. These discussions are invitation only though, so if you were not one of the ones who received an invitation, please visit www.flgov.com/education where you can post your questions and comments.
