INDIAN ROCKS BEACH, Fla. (AP) - The U.S. Coast Guard says a 385-foot luxury fishing barge broke loose from its anchored spot off the Gulf of Mexico and is drifting out near Indian Rocks Beach.
Officials say no injuries or pollution have been reported and it's not considered an emergency. Only a few crew members are aboard the barge, called Fisherman's Paradise, but none are in danger.
The barge is waiting for a tug boat to pull it into a repair shipyard as soon as there's space. Until then, the barge is stable and not expected to drift onshore.
It's unclear what caused the barge to drift, though extremely high wind gusts Sunday could have been a factor.
