RUSKIN, Fla. - Five days have passed since a gunman opened fire in Ruskin, and for those who live in the house-turned-memorial, sleep is a luxury.

"I don't feel safe inside my house or outside my house. Knowing the killer is on the loose makes it harder. We can't sleep at night," said one man, who asked not to be identified.

The people we interviewed today asked not to be identified because the suspect is still on the run -- and rumors are running with him.

They heard word that despite firing bullets at six people, the suspect may not have hit who he came for. So they fear he will come back.

"He shot to kill. If he did it once, he can do it twice," one woman told us.

Though their house is on special watch by Sheriff's deputies, they fear the hourly drive-byes are not enough.

Deputy Mike Newell is one of the deputies that is patrolling the neighborhood. He's told the man we interviewed that he's confident that the killer will be brought to justice.
