BRADENTON, Fla. - Manatee County Sheriff deputies were lead on a chase by an under-aged driver early Friday morning, officials said.

It all started when a 15 year old girl allegedly stole an Acura SUV around one in the morning. As she fled in the stolen vehicle she rammed into another car near Cortez Road and 5th Street West.

The driver of the struck vehicle decided to chase after the teen driver as she fled from the accident. As the two drivers sped down 5th Street West they caught the attention of a sheriff deputy.

The deputy attempted to stop the amateur chase. When he got out of his car the teen backed into his cruiser and sped off.

Other deputies chased after  the 15 year old until the chase reached high speeds and involved reckless driving and the chase was called off.

Officials, soon after,  found the stolen SUV abandoned. The girl was later found and arrested. Due to her age she did not have a license.

No injuries were sustained during the chases.

The deputies cruiser suffered damage amounting to $2,000.
