SARASOTA, Fla. - A Sarasota man has been arrested in a Saturday shooting at the Saratoga Place apartments in Palmer Ranch.

Michael Minor, 27, of Sarasota, has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, attempted robbery with a firearm and burglary with a firearm, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.

Minor is accused of shooting 39-year-old Sam Dreher of North Port in the head around 3 p.m. Saturday. Authorities say he is on life support at Blake Medical Center and is not expected to survive.

Minor went to the apartment to retrieve items he believed were in a vehicle belonging to Dreher, according to detectives. They say Minor entered the vehicle but was confronted by Dreher.  Minor then demanded Dreher's wallet and cell phone. The two men argued and when Dreher saw a 9mm handgun in Minor's possession he fled up the stairs of the apartment.

Dreher was shot twice, according to detectives. Minor was arrested on scene without incident.

The Sheriff's Office said that if Dreher dies, Minor will be charged with first-degree murder.
