SARASOTA, Fla. - A 26-year-old man was flown to Tampa General Hospital Sunday afternoon after a serious boating accident, said Captain Susan Pearson with Sarasota Fire Department.
According to Pearson, Carlos Dominguez was driving a jet ski in Big Pass when he crossed in front of a 32-foot Intrepid.
As the jet ski crossed in front of the boat, Dominguez fell off of the jet ski and into the water.
The Intrepid ran over Dominguez. As Dominguez was under the boat , the boat's propeller nearly severed his arm.
When he surfaced, people on the Intrepid pulled him aboard and took him to shore for medical attention.
He was taken by helicopter to Tampa General Hospital were he will see a surgeon who specializes in reattaching limbs.
