SARASOTA - A man who went to Siesta Bridge to fish Saturday night ended up in the hospital after a fight over a fishing sport turned violent.
The incident happened 9 p.m. at the 1400 block of Siesta Drive in Sarasota.
The victim, who has not been identified, told officers he got into an argument with 58-year-old David Christner about where he had parked his vehicle while he was fishing.
That argument turned into a fight with both the suspect and the victim hitting each other.
Christner grabbed an “ice pick” type weapon and stabbed the victim twice.
The victim was flown to Blake Medical Center for his injuries.
Christner was arrested and charged with felony aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
