SARASOTA, Fla. - One of two eagle eggs removed from Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota last year has hatched.  The American Eagle Foundation out of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, has released video of the baby eagle breaking out of it's shell.

The eagle eggs were removed from a light post at the stadium amid concerns that the Baltimore Orioles baseball team spring training activities would cause problems for the nesting eagles.

The eggs were taken to the foundation's facility in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, where on December 29, the hatchling entered the world.

To prevent human imprinting, the eaglet is being fed by an eagle puppet.

The foundation expects to release the young bird into the wild by mid March.

The second egg taken from the nest at Ed Smith Stadium is considered unfertile and won't hatch.
