SARASOTA, Fla. - A school bus driver inappropriately touched a 16-year-old student on the way home from school Tuesday, according to Sarasota County deputies.

The teenager said she was the last on the bus when the driver, Javier Aramayo-Angeles, 51, took a different route and pulled over on the side of a road.  The victim said Aramayo-Angeles told her to walk to the front of the bus, then he began to touch her and kiss her face.  The girl turned away and demanded that he take her home.

She reported the crime to her father, who contacted school officials.  Authorities at the school notified the Sheriff's Office.

Aramayo-Angeles was charged with battery, a misdemeanor.  He was released on $1,000 bond.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect can call Criminal Investigations at 861-1719.

School officials have assigned Aramayo-Angeles to work in the garage, a position with no student contact.
