BRADENTON, Fla. - A man who managed to walk away from a vehicle crash got seriously hurt after an officer hit him with his police car on State Road 64 early Friday morning.
Officials say a single vehicle crash happened on State Road 64, East of 48 th St Ct E.
Bradenton Officer Nicholaos Gianitsis was driving eastbound toward the crash site. The crashed vehicle was blocking the inside lane.
The right front passenger in the crashed vehicle, 29-year-old Ryan White, exited the car and started crossing State Road 64.
The officer saw White and steered to the right to avoid him.
The right front of the officer’s vehicle struck White.
Ryan was sent to Blake Hospital with serious injuries.
Gianitsis, 44, was uninjured. No charges have been made.
