MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. - A deer died in Manatee after a deputy crashed into the animal Monday morning.
Deputy Posada-Wilcher was driving his patrol vehicle north on Rye Road at 50 miles per hour.
Officials say visibility was limited due to foggy conditions when a deer entered the roadway at the 2100 block.
The deputy was unable to avoid the deer and struck it with the front driver’s side of the vehicle. The deer was killed on impact.
The deputy suffered no injuries. There’s an estimated $500 in damage to the vehicle.
