MANATEE COUNTY - A Venice man’s experience in Manatee County is being compared to scenarios in The Hangover movie after he passed out at a party, then tried to figure out what happened the next morning when he realized his car was missing, The Bradenton Herald reports.
The victim, who wasn’t named, told Manatee County deputies he met some strangers at the Wings Restaurant on U.S. 41 on Sunday, Aug. 4.
The victim said he became quick friends with the group and drove them to a party at an unknown location near the 6000 block of 12 Street East.
He said he remembers drinking alcohol and taking narcotics at the party, then passing out on a couch. When he woke up at 4 a.m. Aug. 5, he realized the borrowed car he was driving, along with the keys and his cell phone were all missing.
On top of that, the victim was asked to leave the home where the party had been held.
He told officials he didn’t know where he was but he managed to walk to a Family Dollar and called the person who owned the stolen vehicle.
It hasn’t been confirmed whether the vehicle was yet found. For updates, read The Bradenton Herald’s report here: http://wfts.tv/13TrHh1
