The man, only identified as MM, lives with his parents in a Manatee home.
His parents called deputies about 6:00 a.m. about their intoxicated son who was threatening to kill himself.
Deputy Ragoonanan arrived to the home and spoke to the parents when MM ran in the direction of Lorraine Road and SR 70.
After Deputy Ragoonanan told MM to stop several times, he deployed his stun gun to prevent MM from getting hurt, the report states.
MM was then delivered to a facility to evaluation.
