SARASOTA, Fla. - The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspicious incident, where a student was approached near Booker High School Thursday.
According to a release, a man in a white Ford Sport Track approached a 15-year-old girl just before 8:00 a.m. in the 1400 block of Myrtle Avenue.
The driver rolled down his window and asked the student if she needed a ride. The girl said no and continued to walk onto campus. According to deputies, the driver then yelled his phone number to the child and drove off.
Surveillance cameras captured the incident.
The girl reported the incident to the school, but the vehicle was not located.
The driver is described as a Hispanic man in his 30s.
