BRADENTON, Fla. - A woman was taken to the hospital after getting hit by a deputy responding to a crime in Bradenton early Friday morning.

Deputy C. Butler was headed to a burglary at Bob Boast VW about 12:20 a.m., driving the speed limit, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office press release.  

Tina Brunner was in front of an IHOP restaurant at 5427 14 th Street West when she decided to cross the street in front of Deputy Butler’s vehicle.

She was hit by the front marker light and the passenger side mirror.

Brunner was taken to Blake Medical Center.

Officials said Brunner may have a dislocated hip and possibly broken ribs, however she was alert and responsive at the accident scene.
