Two searching for help after car breaks down sustain gunshots, suspect at large

BRADENTON - Two people looking for help after their vehicle broke down were injured in a double shooting early Friday morning.
Skyla Cowsert, 21, and Jerewy Thomas, 31, were at 1116 60 th Ave Drive E in Bradenton when their vehicle stopped working.
They got out and began to walk when the came across an unknown man.
Thomas got into an argument with him and the suspect pulled out an unknown dark colored semi-automatic pistol.
He fired several shots at the victim, leaving Thomas with seven gunshot wounds and Cowsert with one.
The suspect ran away. The investigation is ongoing.
