BRADENTON, Fla. - Manatee County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for two suspects who opened fire on the grounds of Johnson Middle School in Bradenton.
It happened Friday around 3:05 p.m.
According to a release, a witness saw two suspects near the back of the school's property. One of them fired a gun into the air. The witness watched as the two took off.
Immediately following the incident, Johnson Middle went into lockdown. Wakeland Elementary also went into lockdown, as a precaution. Both lockdowns have been lifted.
The suspects are described as two black males, possibly teenagers. The suspects were seen on a bicycle prior to the shooting.
Deputies said one suspect rode off on the bicycle. The second suspect ran from the scene.
