MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. - The body of a white male was found in the Manatee River shortly before 1 p.m. Tuesday.  Authorities are now working to identify the victim.

The discovery was made in about three feet of water by a fisherman near Emerson Point.

At this point, no connection is being made between the discovery and the January 27 disappearance of a Bradenton man.

Patrick Mullins' 16-foot Stumpknocker was discovered near Egmont Key off Fort De Soto Park at the mouth of Tampa Bay. It was floating at sea unanchored.
