WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - LEGOLAND officially opens in Winter Haven Saturday, and our Sean Daly is on hand for the big day.
The 150-acre theme park is geared for parents and kids ages 2 to 12 with more than 50 family oriented rides, shows, attractions, restaurants and botanical gardens.
"The entire LEGOLAND experience is designed for kids ages 2 to 12, so there's no longer any reason to delay the decision to take that first family theme park vacation," said Adrian Jones, LEGOLAND Florida general manager. "Our highly immersive rides and experiences are great fun for younger children, allow mom and dad to play along, and are perfect for creating cherished memories for every member of the family."
One of the things that makes LEGOLAND different from most of the other central Florida themeparks is their "pink-knuckle" attractions - 4 junior roller coasters (Dragon Coaster, Coasterersaurus, LEGO TECHNIC Test Track Coaster and Flight School) that offer just the right amount of thrill and speed for every member of the family.
For children 3 to 5 year olds, there is DUPLO Village where kids can climb, crawl and slide among cute LEGO farm animals.
LEGOLAND Florida is the second park in the US - the other one is located in California. General Admission prices: adults 13-59 $75 plus tax, children 3-12 or senior 60+ $65 plus tax, children under 3 free.
