WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - What can you make out of 50 million LEGO bricks? Well LEGOLAND, of course! Today we will give you a sneak peek into the new theme park which opens tomorrow in Winter Haven.
The 150-acre theme park is geared for parents and kids ages 2 to 12 with more than 50 family oriented rides, shows, attractions, resturants and botantical gardens.
"The entire LEGOLAND experience is designed for kids ages 2 to 12, so there's no longer any reason to delay the decision to take that first family theme park vacation," said Adrian Jones, LEGOLAND Florida general manager. "Our highly immersive rides and experiences are great fun for younger children, allow mom and dad to play along, and are perfect for creating cherished memories for every member of the family."

One of the things that makes LEGOLAND different from most of the other central Florida themeparks is their "pink-knuckle" attractions - 4 junior roller coasters (Dragon Coaster, Coasterersaurus, LEGO TECHNIC Test Track Coasater and Flight School) that offer just the right amount of thrill and speed for every member of the family.
For children 3 to 5 year olds, there is DUPLO Village where kids can climb, crawl and slide among cute LEGO farm animals.
Kids and their families will get to experience 10 easy-to-navigate themed zones:
The Beginning serves as the park's entry and features the Island in the Sky, a 100-foot rotating platform ride that offers a 360° view of the entire p ark. Also found here are The Big Shop - one of the largest LEGO retail stores in the world .
Fun Town gives families a look at how LEGO bricks are made from factory to finish. This area is also the location of a two-story Grand Carousel with LEGO- themed horses and a 4D movie center that seats 700 and shows three different 4D movies throughout the day.
LEGO Kingdoms is medieval themed and takes kids back to a time of knights, princesses and dragons.
Miniland USA is the heart of the LEGOLAND Park, and home to eight remarkably themed areas that represent miniature versions of landmarks found throughout the United States.
Land of Adventure entices adventurers of all ages to explore this fun-filled zone
LEGO Technic is the most “intense” zone in the park. Here courageous youngsters and daring adults will brave the LEGO TECHNIC® Test Track Coaster drive a vehicle around a twisting track
.
LEGO City is the great place for youngsters to live out their dreams in a scaled-down town created just for them. At Ford Driving School (and its counterpart Ford Jr. Driving School), kids from ages 3 to 13 get to drive their own car, navigate roads and earn a commemorative driver’s license.
Imagination Zone is the most hands-on section of the park, emphasizing exploration and creation. The zone is home to several of the most visually exciting LEGO models in the world, including a giant replica of Albert Einstein’s head.
DUPLO® Village is a perfect area for the youngest kids to fly a plane, drive a car or explore a whole town designed with their height in mind.
Pirate’s Cove rests along the picturesque shores of Lake Eloise, where you will find swashbuckling LEGO “mini-fig” pirates who star in “The Battle for Brickbeard’s Bounty,” a live-action, water-stunt show that will bring families nose to nose with all the action.
The designers for LEGOLAND took great care to preserve the essence of the park - the historic Cypress Gardens. The grounds have been restored to its original pristine condition.
LEGOLAND Florida is the second park in the US - the other one is located in California.
General Admission prices: adults 13-59 $75 plus tax, children 3-12 or senior 60+ $65 plus tax, children under 3 free.
ABC Action News will have live reports in our morning show at 5am, Noon and 5p.
