Bold Dollar General Store robber tries to rob manager during job interview

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - A manager for a Winter Haven Dollar General Store was holding a job interview Monday afternoon when a man walked into the store's office with a gun.

Detectives say the suspect put a gun to the manager's head and demanded money.  After the manager explained there was no money in the office, the would-be robber pistol-whipped the manager, who was not identified.

After he hit the manager, detectives said the suspect pointed the gun at the job applicant and threatened to shoot her.

The manager then took the robber to the front of the store where he took an undisclosed amount of money.
