WINTER HAVEN - An arrest has been made in the Winter Haven murder of 18-year-old Alicia Dorene, but police say one suspect is still on the loose.

Antonio Callaway, a 19-year-old student at Dorene’s former school, New Beginnings High, was taken into custody Wednesday.

Officials say Callaway, along with an unidentified co-conspirator gunned Callaway down on the Chain of Lakes Trail Nov. 12.

An investigation revealed that Callaway and his accomplice lured Dorene near the Carefree Cove area to rob her of marijuana.

She was shot multiple times during the robbery.

Police say Callaway is affiliated with a street gang and had numerous arrests for violent crimes as a juvenile, including Attempted First Degree Murder in 2008.

Callaway has been charged with First Degree Murder (CF), Armed Robbery (F-1) and Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery.

Police are still searching for the second suspect. They are asking any members of the community with information about the murder to contact the Winter Haven Police Department (863-401-2256) or Heartland Crime Stoppers at 1-800-226-TIPS (8477).
