POLK COUNTY, Fla. - Call it Christmas karma?

The Polk County Sheriff's Office has identified the woman dubbed the 'Grinch' who allegedly stole a Toys for Tots box from a Hungry Howie's location.

Amanda Akins , 27, had been arrested by deputies on another warrant for Petit Theft.

On Friday, detectives received a tip from a Polk County resident who recognized Akins from the surveillance video released to the public.

Akins was subsequently interviewed, and detectives say she confessed to taking the box of toys.

She reportedly left the toys with a friend.

Some, but not all of the toys were recovered from the friend's home.

Authorities are still working to track down the rest of the toys.

Akins now faces an additional charge of Grand Theft. She made her first appearance Saturday morning, where the judge set her bond at $5000.

"We are so grateful to the community for helping us identify this 'Grinch' responsible for stealing children's toys, and just in time for Christmas," says Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd.

"We here at PCSO also got our Christmas wish - that the suspect responsible for doing this will be eating processed turkey on Christmas Day in the Polk County Jail."
